The same area of twenty-four consecutive sheets of red gum veneer was used to make this pattern. The resulting effect depends upon not only the overall figure in the sheets, but also the particular area of the sheets that is used. Compare this pattern with Another Red Gum Starburst that was made from a different area of the very same sheets of red gum veneer.
The top is approximately 48" in diameter. The narrow contrasting strip (filleti) is silver ash. The outer band and vertical table edge are mahogany.
This table top was made for a local arts and crafts show to demonstrate starburst decorative veneering. An apron and base have not yet been made to complete the game table.
